Most delays in website projects do not come from design or development. They come from decisions and materials that arrive late. Preparing a few things before the first meeting makes the proposal more accurate and the project faster.
1. A clear goal
Write in one sentence what the website must achieve: more inquiries, online bookings, sales, or presenting the business professionally. Every later decision depends on this.
2. Who you want to reach
Describe your typical customers: what they need, which questions they ask before buying and which device they use. If you work in several countries or languages, list them.
3. Content you already have
- Texts describing your services or products
- Photos and videos you own the rights to
- Logo and brand files, ideally in vector format
- Legal texts such as privacy and cookie policies
4. References
Collect two or three websites you like and note what you like about each one. It is more useful than describing a style in words.
5. Practical details
- Who has access to the domain and the current hosting
- Which tools must connect to the website, such as booking, email or CRM
- Who will update the content after launch
- Any fixed date, such as a launch or a trade fair
With these points ready, the first conversation can focus on solutions instead of gathering information.
